Humans love to get high. So much so that stanley cup people were recreationally using nitrous oxide commonly called laughing gas for nearly a century before it was used as an anaesthetic. So when chemists in the 1930s started proposing the use of nitrous oxide in consumer products like whipped cream canisters, some people naturally assumed that the end result would be rampant casual drug use. Police on Monday identified a man who was fatally shot by an officer for allegedly refusing to stop beating stanley cup a toddler to death along a remote road.Sergio Casian Aguiar, 27, parked his truck on an unlit road Saturday night, removed a 2-year-old boy from his car seat and proceeded to stomp, kick and punch the boy to death, authorities said. The boy was unrecognizable when he was pronounced dead at Emanuel Medical Center, the Stanislaus County Sheriff s Department said.Authorities have not released the boy s name but say they believe he was Aguiar s son. The Stanislaus County coroner and the California Department of Justice are testing DNA to confirm the relationship.Several motorists called 911 and tried to stop the beating, authorities said.Dan Robinson, a local volunteer fire department chief, told The Modesto Bee that at first glance, he thought the child was a dead animal in the road. He said when he realized it was a child, he tried to stop Aguilar. The anthrax-laced letters sent through the mail last fall grew deadlier in potency with each succeeding letter, with the deadliest spores in the final letter to Sen. More than six months after the anthrax letters frightened the nation, investigators are no closer to identifying the source, the Times sa stanley thermos id.Previously, investigators believed the anthrax letters sent to Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle, D-North Dakota, and Leahy, D-Vermont, were of equal potency. Each stanley becher letter was mailed from Trenton, N.J., on Oct. 9, 2001, and each letter contained the same photocopied message. But subsequent analysis showed that the Leahy letter contained finer, deadlier spores.Increasingly, investigators have turned to science in a bid to crack the case. The highest courts in two states dealt gay rights advocates dual setbacks Thursday, rejecting same-sex couples bid to win marriage rights in New York and reinstating a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in Georgia.Activists had hoped to widen marriage rights for gays and lesbians beyond Massachusetts with a legal victory in liberal New York, but the Court of Appeals ruled 4-2 that the state s law allowing marriage only between a man and a woman was constitutional. The decision comes two years after gay and lesbian couples, supported by gay-rights groups who saw a chance for a major court win in a populous state, sued for the right to wed. Clearly, in bringing the c stanley website ase and pushing it as hard as they did, it s pretty good evidence that they thought they had a substantial chance of victory, said Ohio State University law professor Marc Spindelman, who tracks lesbian and gay legal issues. It the Star Trek-inspired future we were promised鈥攚alls that glow and change color, perhaps with just a gentle voice command. And it finally almost possible thanks to a series of advances in OLED sheets. This new lighting solution also uses half as much energy than existing fluorescent lights. It is, however, pretty expensive. New OLED technology that lets you laminate light to surfaces like walls or ceilings is starting to hit the market. These OLEDs run cooler than existing LEDs, so there no need for bulky heat sinks, making big sheets of light a reality. But, as the MIT Technology Review points out, the impressive technology is also 10 to 100 times more expensive than conventional lighting. So it really expensive. OLED technology is expensive across the board, but big companies are actively working on bringing the price down. stanley cup Konica-Minoltaand Philips are just two companies that plan to scale up production of OLED sheets in the next couple of years. And since sheets used for lighting don ;t actually need to be manufactured using the same equipment as high resolution displays, a few tweaks in the logistics could make a big difference for their bottom line. While an OLED lamp costs about $9,000 now, Philips aims to make them as cheap as $600 a piece by 2017. No word yet on how expensive the wallpaper of the future will be.
